Terms of Service

By accessing or using Oteria (“the Service”), operated by Graybridge Labs (“we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Oteria is an AI-powered scene partner for actors. The Service allows you to paste or upload scripts, assign AI voices to characters, and rehearse dialogue using voice recognition and text-to-speech technology. The Service also includes a prose reader for listening to written content read aloud.

The Service uses third-party providers including ElevenLabs (voice generation) and Anthropic (AI script cleanup and photo OCR). Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers’ terms.

You sign in via Google OAuth. We do not store passwords. By signing in, you authorize us to receive your name and email address from Google to create and maintain your account.

You are responsible for the activity on your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

Oteria is not directed at children under 16. If you are under 16, or if your local law requires a higher age, you must use Oteria only with a parent, guardian, teacher, or other authorised adult.

Oteria offers paid subscription plans. Details of available plans, pricing, and included features are displayed on our website and may change with reasonable notice.

Free trials, where offered, are limited to one per person and subject to usage caps. Abuse of the trial system (including creating multiple accounts) may result in account suspension.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through the available account controls or by contacting us if self-service cancellation is not available. Refunds are handled in accordance with applicable law and the terms shown at checkout.

You retain full ownership of any scripts, text, or other content you provide to the Service (“Your Content”). We claim no intellectual property rights over Your Content.

By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you — for example, parsing scripts, generating speech, and performing AI cleanup when requested.

We do not use Your Content to train AI models. We do not sell, share, or distribute Your Content to third parties except as necessary to provide the Service (e.g., sending text to ElevenLabs for voice generation).

Pro subscribers may connect their own ElevenLabs API key to unlock additional features (“Premium”). When you connect your key:

• Your key is encrypted at rest and never exposed after initial submission.
• Voice generation requests are sent directly to your ElevenLabs account and billed by ElevenLabs, not by us.
• You are responsible for your ElevenLabs account, usage, and billing.
• Premium usage is governed by your ElevenLabs plan, limits, and terms.
• We are not liable for charges incurred on your ElevenLabs account.
• You may disconnect your key through the available account controls or by contacting support. Your account reverts to Pro.

You must ensure you have the right to use any voices in your ElevenLabs library, including cloned voices. Using a cloned voice without the voice owner’s consent may violate applicable law.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Generate content that is hateful, threatening, or promotes violence.
• Misrepresent AI-generated audio as a real human performance in contexts where disclosure is required.
• Attempt to circumvent usage caps, trial limits, or security measures.
• Use the Service to clone voices without proper authorisation.
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service or its output without permission.

The Service uses AI for voice generation, speech recognition, script cleanup, and photo OCR. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated voices are synthetic and may not perfectly replicate human speech.
• Speech recognition (via the Web Speech API) runs through your browser and may produce inaccurate transcriptions. Browser support and processing behaviour can vary.
• AI script cleanup may alter your text. Always review the output.
• AI systems may produce unexpected results. The Service is a rehearsal tool, not a substitute for professional judgement.

Scripts and scenes are stored on our servers, scoped to your account, and not accessible to other users.

Audio files generated during rehearsal are cached locally in your browser (IndexedDB). They are not uploaded to our servers.

Speech recognition uses the Web Speech API through your browser. We do not record or store your microphone audio; Oteria only uses the recognition result needed to match your spoken line to the script.

BYOK keys are encrypted at rest using server-side encryption. They are decrypted only at the moment of a voice generation request and are never logged or exposed to the client after initial submission.

Authentication is via Google OAuth. We store your name and email address. We do not store passwords.

We do not use your data to train AI models. We do not sell your data. We may collect anonymised, aggregated usage metrics to improve the Service.

The Service, its design, code, and branding are owned by Graybridge Labs. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service.

AI-generated audio produced through the Service is subject to the terms of the underlying voice provider (ElevenLabs). You are responsible for ensuring your use of generated audio complies with their terms and applicable law.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

We are not responsible for the content of scripts you upload or the output generated by AI voices. You are solely responsible for how you use generated content.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits, data loss, or charges incurred on third-party accounts (including ElevenLabs).

You may request account deletion at any time by contacting us, or by using self-service account controls where available. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, with notice where practicable.

On termination, your scripts and scene data will be deleted. Audio cached in your browser remains on your device until you clear it.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the place where Graybridge Labs is established, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your location require otherwise.
